The CAS Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the firm's accounting operations by ensuring that tasks delegated by the Supervisor and CAS Lead are completed accurately and on time. This role involves maintaining professional communication with both internal teams and external clients, particularly on matters related to accounting, client management, tax readiness, and bookkeeping.

The CAS Specialist is responsible for providing timely updates to Managers regarding the progress and completion of assigned work. They are expected to be proactive, detail-oriented, and solution-driven— effectively addressing client and firm concerns while contributing to high-quality service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Handle monthly client accounting and bookkeeping projects with accuracy and timeliness
  • Maintain client's books in accordance with supervisor instructions and firm standards
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of Client Accounting Services (CAS) projects to ensure the quality and accuracy of documentation
  • Maintain strong client communication and provide excellent customer service as needed throughout the accounting cycle
  • Review and adjust financials; prepare and correct journal entries.
  • Demonstrate independence and self-sufficiency in resolving issues within QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of proven experience in US bookkeeping or Client Accounting Services (CAS)
  • Minimum of 2 years recent hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop
  • Proficient in transactional accounting within QuickBooks
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. tax laws, regulations, and filing deadlines
  • CPA license or eligibility is a plus.
