Position Overview

A Roving Merchandiser is responsible for visiting multiple retail locations to ensure products are properly displayed, stocked, priced, and promoted. This role supports brand visibility and sales performance across an assigned territory by maintaining high merchandising standards, building strong relationships with store staff, and executing promotional activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel between assigned retail stores within a set route or territory.
  • Ensure shelves, displays, and promotional areas are fully stocked and visually appealing.
  • Implement planograms, resets, and seasonal layouts according to brand or client guidelines.
  • Monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and remove damaged or expired items.
  • Build positive relationships with store managers, department leads, and staff.
  • Set up signage, pricing labels, and promotional materials as required.
  • Report on stock issues, competitor activity, store feedback, and merchandising results.
  • Take photos and submit daily/weekly reports via mobile apps or company systems.
  • Assist with product demonstrations, events, or launches when needed.
  • Maintain company equipment, uniforms, and merchandising materials.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in merchandising, retail, or field sales preferred.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to follow planograms and execute tasks independently.
  • Good time-management skills and ability to work across multiple store locations.
  • Physically able to lift, carry, and move stock and displays.
  • Comfortable using mobile reporting tools or apps.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (if required for the territory).
