Responsibilities:

Remote Real-time Monitoring and Control:

  • Continuously monitor the performance and status of wind turbines and solar panels through SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems.
  • Respond to alarms and notifications related to equipment failures, system anomalies, or grid disturbances from the control system, assessing their severity, and taking appropriate actions.
  • Manage the start-up and shutdown processes of wind turbines and solar inverters, ensuring they align with grid requirements and safety protocols.
  • Adjust power output to meet grid demand and ensure compliance with grid operator instructions.
  • Coordinate the integration of power generated by the wind and solar farms into the grid, ensuring stability and compliance with grid codes.
  • Communicate with grid operators to ensure stable grid integration

Maintenance and Operations Coordination:

  • Schedule preventive maintenance, coordinate with maintenance teams, oversee asset handover, monitor progress, and verify completed work.
  • Manage the reintegration of equipment post-maintenance, ensuring proper servicing and operational safety.
  • Communicate operational status changes or risks to relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain regular contact with maintenance teams to report faults or maintenance needs.

Data Logging and Reporting:

  • Prepare and submit daily reports on power generation, equipment status, weather conditions, and incidents.
  • Log operational data, including power generation, equipment performance, weather conditions, and shift incidents.
  • Generate detailed shift reports on system performance, incidents, and maintenance activities.
  • Report unit outages (isolation/resumption) to the ERC and submit monthly outage summaries.
  • Coordinate regular updates on plant status via established communication channels (e.g., Viber GC).

SCADA System Monitoring, Issue Identification, and Response:

  • Continuously monitor the SCADA system for anomalies, alarms, and performance deviations.
  • Promptly identify potential issues and system failures.
  • Escalate critical issues to the IT team and coordinate with them for troubleshooting and resolution.
  • Provide necessary information and support to the IT team.
  • Document incidents, corrective actions taken, and lessons learned.

SCADA System Maintenance and Upgrades:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as software updates and hardware checks.
  • Assist in system upgrades and modifications.
  • Document system configurations and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • Experience in renewable energy, particularly wind and solar power.
  • Strong understanding of SCADA systems and power plant operations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant software tools
  • Must be willing to work in Ayala Triangle Makati
