Job Summary
The Operations Finance Officer is responsible for managing and monitoring financial operations within the retail business. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with policies, and supports operational efficiency by aligning finance processes with retail operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management
- Oversee daily financial transactions including accounts receivable, property and insurance, and cash flow monitoring.
- Prepare and review financial reports and analyses, budgets, and forecasts for retail operations.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Operational Support
- Collaborate with store operations, merchandising, marketing, eComm, DC teams to align financial processes with business objectives.
- Monitor and analyze operational KPIs and financial performance to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Assist in inventory valuation and accounts reconciliation to maintain accurate records.
- Process Improvement
- Identify inefficiencies in financial and operational workflows and recommend improvements.
- Support automation initiatives for finance-related processes to enhance accuracy and speed.
- Reporting & Analysis
- Generate monthly and quarterly financial reports for management.
- Conduct variance analysis between actual and budgeted figures and provide actionable insights.
- Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to company policies, tax regulations, and audit requirements.
- Participate in internal and external audits, preparing necessary documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
- 2–4 years of experience in finance or operations within the retail industry.
- Strong knowledge of financial principles, retail operations, and inventory management.
