Overview

We are seeking a Robotics Software Engineer to drive the development of advanced perception and navigation capabilities for next-generation autonomous trailer and container (un)loading robots. These systems—based on upgraded forklifts and AMRs (Autonomous Mobile Robots)—rely on state-of-the-art SLAM, localization, and 3D perception to autonomously load and unload trailers in dynamic warehouse and dock environments.

This role offers the opportunity to work on real-world robotics challenges such as natural navigation in unstructured spaces, adaptive pallet handling, and precision load placement at human-level speeds, directly contributing to the transformation of supply chain operations with safe, efficient, and easily deployable robotics solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Algorithm Development: Design, implement, and optimize SLAM and localization algorithms that enable natural navigation and mapping in dynamic loading dock environments.
  • 3D Perception: Process and interpret 3D point clouds to detect trailer/container geometry, determine optimal loading/unloading patterns, and adapt to varying pallet sizes, shapes, and arrangements.
  • System Integration: Integrate perception, motion control, and AI decision-making into AMR forklifts and pallet jacks, ensuring precise millimetric placement of loads.
  • Simulation & Prototyping: Build and test prototypes that validate real-world performance, collaborating closely with U.S.-based engineers to iterate quickly.
  • Warehouse Integration: Contribute to solutions that work both as standalone robots and within Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Code Quality: Write robust, efficient, and well-documented C++/Python/ROS code.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 3–8 years of experience in robotics software development.
  • Proficiency in C++, Python, and ROS.
  • Expertise in localization, mapping, and computer vision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with autonomous forklifts, drones, or autonomous vehicle platforms.
  • Familiarity with embedded systems or cloud-based simulation environments.
  • Knowledge of safety-critical systems for human-robot collaboration.
