Job Summary
The Fleet HR Officer is responsible for monitoring crew availability, crew documentation status and other crew matters that will ensure timely deployment and for providing clerical support to the unit.
Job Responsibilities
Fleet HR Officer
Act as a point of contact between the fleet operations and vessel crew members.
- Communicates with Principal/Vessel on crew and deployment matters and sees to it that they are provided crew status and updates regularly. Any problem that may arise shall be properly advised and proper disposition and possible solution may be suggested.
- Coordinates flight booking with travel agency, airline, or Principal and advises them of any change.
- Encodes embarkation and disembarkation of crew following set procedures and standards.
- Conducts final briefing to all departing crew in accordance with set procedure.
- Assist in the conducting of exit interviews to all disembarking crew and key matters discussed are properly documented, availability of crew for next assignment has been confirmed, documents assessed for next assignment and proper instruction to comply with deficiency has been given together with the competency gaps identified and training needs required.
- Monitors the medical fitness of embarking crew.
- Stay up to date with maritime regulations, conventions, and industry standards related to seafarer employment, safety, and welfare.
- Validates completeness and validity of crew documents against requirements and regulations (STCW Convention, Marpol, MLC, Flag state, POEA, Marina, TESDA and NTC).
Job requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Behavioral Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in crewing or human resource or related roles.
- Experience in seafarer deployment is a plus.
- Knowledgeable of international and local maritime regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices is advantageous.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to a dynamic industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and presentation tools.
