Job Summary

The Accounting Associate supports daily accounting operations, maintains financial records, and assists with financial reporting. This role ensures accuracy in bookkeeping, reconciliations, and documentation while helping the accounting team meet monthly and yearly deadlines.

Key Responsibilities1. Bookkeeping & Data Entry

  • Record daily financial transactions, journal entries, and adjustments
  • Maintain general ledgers, subsidiary ledgers, and accounting files

2. Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Process supplier invoices and ensure proper documentation
  • Verify expense reports and support vendor payments
  • Reconcile AP statements and resolve discrepancies

3. Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Prepare customer invoices and follow up on collections
  • Record receipts and reconcile AR balances

4. Reconciliations

  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure accuracy

5. Financial Reporting Assistance

  • Support the preparation of financial statements
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities
  • Prepare schedules and supporting documents for audits

6. Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure proper filing of accounting documents
  • Follow company policies, internal controls, and accounting standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Fresh graduates welcome; internship experience is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS)
  • Proficient in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables preferred)
  • Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) is an advantage
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good analytical and organizational skills
