Job Purpose:

  • Manages the activities involved in the design, preparation, delivery and need assessment of training and development programs for company managers and employees.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Joins in partnership with other HR professionals to assess and implement organizational development programs, processes and training initiatives to support organizational strategies.
  2. Determines company needs for leadership development, succession planning, career management, interpersonal skills and communication training.
  3. Develops and/or approves content, methods, and materials for training staff and may conduct courses.
  4. Develops methods for evaluation of program effectiveness including development and delivery of programs, such as new employee orientation, performance management and/or organizational development training.
  5. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
  6. Conducts supervisory, management or nontechnical skills training courses for internal staff.
  7. Uses needs assessment tools to determine effectiveness of proposed training programs. Interacts with functional organizations to develop specifications for content of courses.
  8. Prepares lesson plans including the method, media, and documentation to be presented. Instructs participants in classroom lectures and/or group sessions.
  9. Conducts follow up to determine applicability of course material.
  10. Develops and administers staffing/employment/recruiting programs.
  11. Works with hiring manager to document requirements of job openings as required opening requisition(s).
  12. Determines appropriate recruiting sources for advertising and posting positions.
  13. Promotes the company image to candidates and external service providers.
  14. Surfaces candidates and develops networks of people and processes to support a strong pipeline of qualified candidates.
  15. Pre-screens resumes and evaluates effectiveness of electronic candidate evaluation tools.
  16. Documents candidate evaluation and interview process.
  17. Negotiates and/or supports hiring manager in developing new hire compensation package/offers.
  18. May conduct employment background checks.
  19. Works with agencies, recruiting contractors and/or internet website representatives in the course of conducting employment advertising campaigns.
  20. May provide performance feedback on all recruiting agencies/sources.
