Solutions Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provides Technical Support to Sales team

  2. Conducts site visits and technical assessment to provide effective and efficient solution design and bill of materials to achieve a higher chance of closing the project

  3. Establishes the technical needs of the client and suggesting appropriate display solutions
  4. Design solution and prepares technical diagrams and bills of materials and services to cater client's requirements
  5. Calculates Project Solution Costing and conducts cost analysis
  6. Coordinates with various suppliers to identify the appropriate solution with cost computation
  7. Works closely with the Operations Team for complex system design and project implementation planning
  8. Works closely with the Project Compliance Team for structural and electrical requirements
  9. Provides mock-ups in coordination with Creatives
  10. Prepares, sets up and conducts product demonstration
  11. Conducts periodic meetings with assigned sales team

  12. Assist Sales Team in their product presentation to client

  13. Keeps the Sales Team informed about designed solutions and upcoming trends and technologies

  14. Conduct user training for end-users as may be required

  15. Research and keep up with technology trends to identify and or develop new products/services

  16. Conducts Product Testing and analysis

  17. Coordinates with Suppliers for technical training and product demonstration requirements

  18. Establish good relationships and good working coordination with the MDS Operations Team

  19. Discuss designed solution to the assigned implementing team

  20. Provide all necessary details (inclusions, assumptions, and exclusions)

  21. Works closely with the implementing team to ensure design plan is implemented accurately and completely

  22. Performs administrative tasks such as:

  23. Reimbursement and liquidation of expenses

  24. Preparation and facilitation of Turnover Documents
  25. Compilation of proposal and reports related to clients, solution designs, and sales accounts

  26. Maintain an organize and accurate documentation systems in accordance to the company's standard procedures and process.

  27. To perform other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.

Educational Background and Work Experiences:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Electronics; Electronics and Communications Engineering; or any related Engineering course

  2. With 1-2 yrs work experience in AV

  3. Knowledge in Adobe Photoshop, AutoCad, Sketch Up

Key Competencies and Skills:

  1. Technical Skills:

  2. Knows how to create diagrams, source materials and do cost / budget computation

  3. Ability to understand technical diagrams, structural plans, electrical plans, construction drawings and specifications

  4. Ability to work in high pressure deadline driven environment

  5. Communication and Presentation Skills:

  6. Good verbal and written communication

  7. Capable in interfacing clients and suppliers
  8. Ability to explain technical terms in layman terms
  9. Know how to conduct user training
