We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Application Support Specialist to provide technical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting for enterprise applications. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in UNIX environments and be comfortable handling production issues, system monitoring, and application performance tuning.

You'll work closely with development, infrastructure, and database teams to ensure seamless operations of critical business systems — all while keeping downtime to a minimum and efficiency to the max.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day application support, issue analysis, and troubleshooting for production systems.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement fixes or workarounds for recurring issues.
  • Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to resolve escalated incidents.
  • Execute deployment activities, configuration changes, and post-release verifications.
  • Monitor system performance and logs using AIX/UNIX tools and scripts.
  • Develop and maintain Shell scripts to automate repetitive tasks.
  • Write and optimize Oracle SQL queries for data validation and issue investigation.
  • Prepare documentation for system procedures, incident handling, and knowledge base.
  • Provide on-call support as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Application Support or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • AIX / UNIX environment
  • Shell scripting
  • Oracle SQL
  • Java-based applications
  • Knowledge in C# and .NET technologies is a strong plus.
  • Experience supporting production applications in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a collaborative mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term

Contract length: 18 months

Pay: Up to Php50,000.00 per month
