Company is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Systems Analyst to support and optimize our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system. This role is crucial to bridging the gap between clinical operations and information technology, ensuring our EMR effectively supports high-quality patient care, clinical efficiency, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare IT and demonstrable experience with a major EMR platform (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech, athenahealth, etc.).

Key Responsibilities

As a Systems Analyst, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of EMR system support and enhancement:

  • Workflow Analysis & Configuration: Collaborate with clinicians (physicians, nurses, MAs) and administrative staff to analyze current workflows and translate business requirements into system design specifications.
  • System Build & Customization: Configure, build, and maintain EMR application components (e.g., order sets, clinical documentation templates, decision support rules, user security profiles).
  • Testing & Quality Assurance: Design and execute comprehensive test plans for system upgrades, patches, and new functionality to ensure data integrity and system stability.
  • Tier 2/3 Support: Serve as a subject matter expert for EMR issues, troubleshooting complex problems and escalating technical issues to vendors or IT teams as needed.
  • Training & Documentation: Assist in the development of training materials and provide support for end-users, promoting best practices for system utilization.
  • Compliance: Ensure the EMR system configuration and usage adhere to healthcare regulatory standards, including HIPAA and Meaningful Use/MIPS.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related clinical field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of experience as an EMR Analyst, Application Analyst, or Clinical Systems Analyst in a healthcare setting.
  • EMR Expertise: Proven experience configuring and supporting a major EMR/EHR system (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech, etc.).
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of clinical and administrative workflows, as well as healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, DICOM).
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clinical and technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current EMR/EHR certification.
  • Clinical background (e.g., RN, LPN, CMA) with a passion for IT.
  • Experience with SQL or other data query tools for reporting purposes.
  • Familiarity with Revenue Cycle or Billing systems integration.
