Position: Senior .NET Developer
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable .NET code.
  • Develop, implement, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
  • Collaborate with Dallas HELIX and other ESSPI HELIX resources within an Agile team structure.
  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies: estimation, stand-ups, grooming, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Update user stories and tasks in JIRA to accurately reflect sprint progress.
  • Conduct thorough code checks for defects before release to QA.
  • Submit pull requests, manage code merges, and support software release cycles.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve defects identified by QA teams and end users.
  • Contribute to a culture of team excellence—fostering openness, transparency, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Proactively provide project updates to customers and stakeholders.
  • Maintain and monitor daily service deliverables to ensure SLA adherence.
  • Prepare and submit required operational and project reports.
  • Support team members by flexibly adjusting to project needs and providing backup when necessary.
  • Expand knowledge of business processes and IT-related domains to strengthen solution delivery.
  • Stay current with technologies, systems updates, and industry changes relevant to the team.
  • Provide mentorship and technical training to Analyst/Programmers, sharing expertise to uplift overall team capability.
  • Perform other related tasks as may be assigned.
Core Qualifications and Education
  • 5+ years professional experience with Microsoft .NET (Core/Framework), building scalable and maintainable applications.
  • 4+ years SQL Server experience with expertise in writing complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
  • Strong front-end development background with HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ES6+), and (2+ years) including state management and component-based design.
  • 1+ year experience with TypeScript for strongly typed React applications.
  • 2+ years experience using Git for version control, branching strategies, and collaborative workflows.
  • Hands-on Agile experience (1+ year) working in sprint-based, cross-functional teams.
  • Solid knowledge of software development best practices including unit/integration testing, clean code principles, and peer code reviews.
  • Strong understanding of web fundamentals (HTTP, REST APIs, response codes, API integration).
  • Deep understanding of .NET best practices: SOLID principles, dependency injection, and unit testing frameworks.
  • Excellent English communication skills – both written and verbal – with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Adaptable, proactive, and growth-oriented mindset, with eagerness to learn new technologies and frameworks.
  • Keeps up to date with industry trends and modern development practices.
