Accounting Supervisor

I. POSITION SUMMARY

The Accounting Supervisor – Retail oversees the daily accounting operations and ensures accurate financial recording and reporting for all retail branches. The role manages the accounting team, validates sales and cash reports, monitors inventory movement, ensures compliance with tax and company policies, and supports management with timely financial insights. This position is critical in maintaining accuracy and integrity of retail financial transactions.

II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Daily Retail Accounting Operations

• Supervise accounting assistants and bookkeepers handling branch sales, expenses, and inventory reports.
• Review and validate daily POS sales summaries, cash collections, and deposit reports from branches.
• Ensure timely posting of retail transactions in the accounting system.

2. Financial Reporting & Reconciliation

• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, schedules, and reconciliations.
• Ensure accurate month-end and year-end closing, including accruals and adjustments.
• Monitor branch performance and provide financial analysis when needed.

3. Cash, Sales & Deposit Monitoring

• Validate cash variances, shortages/overages, and ensure proper documentation.
• Monitor daily deposits and ensure they match sales reports.
• Review petty cash liquidations and branch reimbursements.

4. Accounts Payable & Receivable

• Review supplier invoices, AP vouchers, and ensure proper approvals.
• Monitor aging of payables and receivables for retail operations.
• Coordinate with suppliers regarding billing discrepancies or statements of account.

5. Inventory & Cost Control

• Review stock movement, transfers, and adjustments between warehouse and retail branches.
• Monitor inventory variances, shrinkage, and costing accuracy.
• Assist in monthly or quarterly physical inventory counts and reconciliation.

6. Tax Compliance & Regulatory Requirements

• Assist in preparation of BIR filings (VAT, withholding tax, income tax forms).
• Ensure retail documentation is complete for audit and compliance.
• Maintain proper records for government reporting and legal requirements.

7. Internal Controls & Audit Support

• Implement and monitor controls for sales, cash handling, inventory, and expenses.
• Ensure branches follow company accounting and cashiering policies.
• Assist internal/external auditors by preparing schedules and needed documents.

8. Team Supervision

• Assign tasks, review outputs, and ensure accuracy and timely completion.
• Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to accounting staff.
• Coordinate closely with retail operations, warehouse, and purchasing teams.

9. Coordination & Communication

• Work with store supervisors/managers on sales and expense concerns.
• Communicate discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
• Support management with financial insights and operational recommendations.

III. QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related course.
• At least 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably in retail or trading.
• With supervisory experience or strong leadership skills.
• Knowledgeable in POS reconciliation, retail sales processes, and inventory accounting.
• Strong understanding of accounting standards, taxation, and audit.
• Proficient in MS Excel and accounting systems (QuickBooks, SAP, Xero, or similar).
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and integrity.
• Able to work under pressure and handle multiple branches.

Pay: Php20, Php30,000.00 per month
