The Inventory Clerk is primarily responsible for managing and monitoring inventory levels, ensuring accuracy of stock records, assisting with receiving deliveries, and supporting the store's daily operations. In stores with a designated Supervisor, the Inventory Clerk coordinates directly with them. However, in the absence of a Supervisor, the Inventory Clerk takes on leadership responsibilities to ensure continued operational flow and proper reporting to the Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities:- Inventory Monitoring: Track, record, and report daily stock movements (inflows and outflows) of raw materials, packaging, and other supplies.
- Stock Level Checks: Conduct regular physical counts and verify inventory accuracy against system records. Identify discrepancies and report them immediately.
- Requesting Stocks:Prepare and submit stock requisition forms based on consumption and par level requirements to avoid shortages or overstocking.
- Receiving Deliveries: Assist in receiving deliveries. Check the quantity and quality of items delivered to ensure they meet company and food safety standards.
- Stock Organization: Ensure proper labeling, rotation (FIFO method), and cleanliness of all storage areas. Monitor expiry dates and product conditions.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory logs, wastage reports, spoilage reports, and submit required documents on time.
- Coordination with Supervisor: Coordinate daily inventory updates, issues, and stock needs directly with the Store Supervisor.
- Acting In-Charge: In the absence of a Store Supervisor, take charge of overseeing daily operations including task delegation, cleanliness checks, report preparation, and coordination with the Operations Manager.
- Support to Store Operations: Assist in kitchen and counter tasks when needed, especially during peak hours or limited manpower situations.
- Compliance: Follow food safety and inventory control policies. Ensure proper handling and storage of perishable and non-perishable items.
- Other Duties: Perform other store-related tasks as may be assigned by the Supervisor or Operations Manager from time to time.
- Bachelor's degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management or any related food field.
- Experience in inventory, stock management, or store operations (preferably in the food industry).
- Familiar with inventory tracking and basic documentation procedures.
- Willing and able to step into a leadership role when needed.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
