Job Summary:

The Quantity Surveyor / Estimator / Engineering Designer is responsible for providing technical, design, and cost management support throughout all stages of a project — from concept and estimation to detailed engineering and execution. The role ensures that all designs are technically compliant, cost-effective, and aligned with client and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. 1. Quantity Surveying / Estimation / Engineering Designer:

  2. Review and analyze project drawings, specifications, and tender documents.

  3. Prepare detailed quantity take-offs, Bill of Quantities (BOQ), and cost breakdowns based on design drawings and specifications.
  4. Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
  5. Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed engineering designs using AutoCAD, STAAD, or other relevant design tools.
  6. Ensure all designs comply with project specifications, industry codes, and engineering standards (NSCP, Steel Handbook, etc.).
  7. Coordinate with architectural, mechanical, electrical, and other professional teams to ensure integrated and constructible designs.
  8. Prepare technical drawings, shop drawings, and as-built drawings for submission and approval.
  9. Assist in preparing engineering documentation such as Gantt Chart, Pert/CPM, manpower, and equipment utilization schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Licensed Civil Engineer preferred).
  • At least 3 years of experience in quantity surveying, cost estimation, and engineering design.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and engineering standards.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD / STAAD
  • Other engineering software is an advantage
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills across departments and with clients.
  • Ability to work independently under tight deadlines and multitask across disciplines.

KEY DELIVERABLES:

  • BOQ and cost estimation reports
  • Structural Design drawings in compliance with NSCP and other related handbooks.
  • Engineering Documentation, such as Gantt Chart, Pert/CPM, manpower, and equipment utilization schedule.

WORK SETTING:

  • Primarily office-based, with occasional site visits for data gathering and validation.
  • Works closely with the estimating, design, and project management teams.
