The
Library Systems Associate Manager
serves as the technical expert for the Filipinas Heritage Library's systems and technologies, analyzes development requirements, maintains and enhances their operations to support library service, ensuring discovery and access to the growing print and electronic holdings of the library.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and support critical library services including the website, library/content management system, digital asset management system, website; and storage and backup solutions in coordination with the IT team
  • Develop and document internal policies, processes and procedures with regards to library systems and platforms, digital collections, and digital preservation
  • Liaise with the IT and Governance units regarding adherence to IT policies, privacy policies, and risk management.
  • Develop and update the library's digitalization roadmap
  • Lead the library's digital preservation initiatives
  • Identify and analyze existing and emerging needs for new applications, systems, and technical infrastructure, or recommend improvements to existing tools and workflows as needed
  • Keep abreast of trends and best practices related to library systems, information access, and digital libraries
  • Upkeep and monitoring of the library's hardware, software, and computer-related supplies
  • Assist in cataloging digital assets and maintaining the digital assets inventory
  • Collaborate and liaise with the IT unit in solving problems associated with library systems and technical infrastructure, and concerns regarding computer hardware, software, networks, servers, and connectivity
  • Participate in implementing, testing, maintaining and enhancing the library's content management system, digital asset management system, and website, in coordination with the IT unit and service provider/s
  • Collaborate with the museum's Collections unit in identifying CMS and DAMS-related requirements and developing system workflows
  • Collaborate with internal teams on projects to support services and programs involving library collections
  • Conduct demos and assist library users with the use of library systems during service hours or scheduled tours
  • Provide support for effective day-to-day library and information services and access to library materials to meet clients' information needs
  • Assist in performing library services including reference service, reproduction service, and retrieval of physical/digital items

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Library & Information Science with specialization in Information systems and technology or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in library systems analysis and design, deployment, configuration, migration, or technical implementation
  • Experience in digital libraries or digital asset management
  • Experience in library services and library management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Willing to work Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-6pm (hybrid work setup)
