We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our growing team and support our US-based clients. This role goes beyond basic accounting; you'll play a critical part in reviewing financials, ensuring compliance, leading client onboarding, supporting audits, and driving process improvements.
You'll be working closely with a team of accountants, senior accountants, and managers while taking ownership of accuracy, timeliness, and client satisfaction. If you have solid experience in end-to-end accounting, client communication, and process improvement, this role is for you
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow up on unresolved emails/issues with the team/clients
- Assist the team in resolving client-related issues while maintaining effective and positive communication
- Handling team meetings and one-on-one meetings with team members
- Spearhead the onboarding of new clients while working with the teams to ensure a smooth transition and implementation of the accounting tasks
- Detailed review of the day-to-day work performed by our team members to ensure that everything is on track
- Conduct a detailed review weekly of all the files to ensure accuracy, compliance, and completeness of the financial records and reports before they are sent to the Senior Accountant/Accountant Manager or the clients
- Review and oversee the month/quarter/ and year-end close processes for all clients
- Prepare and assist the Senior Accountant/Accountant Manager with tasks such as reporting, budgeting, cash flow projections, and other tasks, and reports that may be required by our clients
- Detailed review of working papers, GL transactions, and overall accuracy of the work performed by our team members
- Detailed review of financial reporting packages, including presentation decks, before they get sent to the Senior Accountant/Accountant Manager for final review
- Spearhead the annual audits of our clients, as well as any external audits conducted by the Government or our clients' stakeholders
- Ensure projects are completed on time, and cover for staff absences
- Spearhead the month-end/year-end and any other closing process
- Lead and facilitate weekly/monthly and ad-hoc meetings and one-on-one meetings with clients (if needed)
- Make sure all the client's tasks are being taken care of
- Oversee the onboarding process of new clients
- Onboarding - learn tasks/systems/tools and transfer this to the assigned team
- Onboarding - ensure everything has been transitioned
- Create and maintain the bookkeeping procedures manual, and ensure client processes are up to date
- Help with the implementation of the new process

- Ensuring that all backward-looking financial information is accurate and recorded properly
- Coming up with a process for getting the books closed on time/accurately for the Senior Accountant/Finance Manager
- Verify the accuracy of work performed or reviewed by the bookkeeping/accounting team and ensure accuracy of the financial reports sent to the Senior Accountant/Finance Manager
- Checking in on all clients' deadlines and compliance, and ensuring these are met
- Follow up on all the important deadlines (i.e. Bed funding report, compliance/HST deadlines, Audits, T2, T1044, T3010, GST/HST, EHT, WSIB, 1099, 990, etc. deadlines) and all the important reports to produce for the clients
- Ensure all day-to-day tasks and compliance work prepared or reviewed by the bookkeeping/accounting team members of all the clients are being taken care of
- Make sure that we offer the best customer experience to our clients, and we exceed their expectations and go above and beyond the plan they have selected
- Ensure the quality and timeliness of all tasks for our clients are being taken care of
- Oversee, communicate & be responsible for our clients to ensure that they are well-served from A-Z and that they are kept satisfied
- Provide the recommendations, process improvements to strengthen our internal controls/system/processes/procedures to ensure effective financial reporting
- Analyze internal operations and identify areas of process enhancement/improvement
- Create systems and automation across our day-to-day operations
- Spearhead special projects i.e., implementation of new processes, system implementations and migrations, financial planning and analysis, and financial audits, etc.
- Introduce/experiment with new processes, software, and ideas to streamline and improve our service delivery and processes
- Bring new ideas/implement new systems, internal processes, and procedures that can reduce the time spent on day-to-day work and preparation and production of monthly financials (one-day closing)
- Address concerns raised by the clients and provide them with support and solutions with their bookkeeping, accounting, HR, operations, taxation, payroll, and overall financial reporting
- Participated in various special projects as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (BSA)
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA); but not required
- At least 5 years of accounting experience (end-to-end, preferably with US clients)
- Strong background in financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance
- Experience leading client onboarding, audits, and month/year-end close
- Proficiency in Google Suite and accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently
- Experience working with AI tools and process automation is a plus
- Preferably residing within or near Metro Manila
- Amenable to work in Nightshift Schedule (9AM-6PM EST)
