The R&D Assistant provides technical and documentation support to the Research and Development team in a GMP- and FDA-regulated food and supplement manufacturing environment. This is an entry-level position designed for fresh graduates or candidates with no prior work experience who are eager to learn product development, formulation support, and laboratory practices. All activities are performed under the supervision of senior R&D personnel in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety standards, and applicable FDA regulations.


Duties and Responsibilities

1. Research & Product Development Support (GMP-Based)

  • Assist in reviewing existing food and supplement products to identify potential improvements under supervision.
  • Support preparation of trial and pilot formulations following approved formulations, SOPs, and GMP guidelines.
  • Help consolidate customer requirements, product specifications, and feedback for R&D evaluation.
  • Assist in ingredient weighing, batching, and preparation strictly following approved procedures and instructions.

2. Testing & Laboratory Support

  • Assist in conducting basic product testing (e.g., physical checks, stability observation, sensory evaluation) as instructed.
  • Properly label, handle, and store raw materials, in-process samples, and finished product samples in accordance with GMP.
  • Monitor and record observations during trials, tests, and product development runs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the laboratory and R&D areas in compliance with GMP housekeeping and sanitation requirements.

3. Documentation & Record Control

  • Assist in preparing and maintaining R&D records, including formulation sheets, batch trial records, test logs, and development reports.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed accurately, legibly, and in a timely manner following document control procedures.
  • Support proper filing and archiving of R&D documents for traceability, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance.

4. GMP, FDA & Food Safety Compliance

  • Follow all GMP, food safety, and FDA-related requirements applicable to R&D and laboratory activities.
  • Assist in ensuring that product development activities comply with internal quality standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Support preparation of documents and records needed for internal audits, FDA inspections, and certification requirements (as applicable).
  • Immediately report deviations, non-conformances, or safety concerns to the R&D Supervisor.

5. Training, Safety & Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in GMP, food safety, laboratory safety, and FDA compliance trainings as required.
  • Comply with company policies on personal hygiene, PPE use, and occupational safety.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product development and R&D processes.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Nutrition, or any related science course.
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • No prior R&D or formulation experience required; structured training will be provided.
  • Basic understanding of food manufacturing, laboratory work, or food safety concepts is an advantage but not required.
  • Willingness to learn and strictly follow GMP, FDA, and food safety regulations.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of following written procedures and instructions.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
  • Willing to work on-site in a laboratory and manufacturing environment.
