Technical Purchaser

Qualification:

• Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent tertiary qualification. Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration with technical knowledge. and experience in different industries and areas, e.g. Automotive, Tool making, Moulding, mechanical production parts, hydraulics, etc
• Strong experience on negotiation and supplier management required (at least 5 years relevant working experience);
• Strong experience in sourcing international (China, etc.) and domestic suppliers
• Sense of responsibility, Strong personality and high skill for teamwork as well as work under pressure;
• Familiar with project engineering procedures as well as serial delivery
• Knowledge in VDA delivery systematic advantageous
• Being capable of understanding the requirements of each task and be able to effect those requirements efficiently with-in a team environment but also be equally comfortable working alone
• Being able to communicate fluent in English, both written and verbal, as well as in electronic mediums such as Outlook, Power Point, Excel, Word etc.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, and purchase materials, components, equipment, and services required for production or projects.
• Prepare and issue Request for Quotations (RFQs) and analyze supplier bids based on cost, quality, and delivery terms
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery schedules with vendors to achieve cost efficiency and reliability
• Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and bills of materials (BOMs) to ensure correct procurement of parts and equipment
• Liaise with engineering, production and other related departments to clarify technical requirements
• Verify that purchased items comply with applicable industry standards, project specifications, and safety regulations
• Sourcing of potential suppliers for parts and systems and initiate potential supplier shortlist for project team assessment and qualification;
• Initiate potential supplier assessment (PSA), supplier qualification assessment and select qualified suppliers to meet project and department requirements with project team
• Early involvement in project and work proactively with cross-functional team members to ensure lowest project procurement cost;
• Providing technical data (e.g. 3D models of products from potential suppliers, technical features of potential products) based on the requirements of the Project Team
• Assessment of technical details provided by the potential supplier and prepare analysis as basis for purchase decisions concerning technical features, dimensions and financial aspects
• Qualified assessment of prices provided by potential suppliers
• Initiate potential supplier assessment (PSA), supplier qualification assessment and select qualified suppliers to meet project and department requirements with project team;
• Propose, recommend and implement suitable strategies to obtain a competitive advantage in commercial terms such as cost, quality, delivery, payment term etc.;
• Implement continuous cost reduction programs in order to achieve savings within the programme runtime
• Permanently exploit new supplier alternatives to achieve significant advantages in serial delivery
• Independent negotiation of contracts for work and materials
• To develop supplier base and monitor supplier's performance and encourage supplier to keeping up with continuous improvement on cost and service;
• To develop and manage collaborative relationships with suppliers to reduce total costs and improve performance of supply chain;
