
Area Manager

Job Purpose:
Responsible for delivery of sales & profit goals by planning, coordinating, controlling and directing store operations in the assigned area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for efficient & effective store operations of all stores in his area
- Effectively champions, cascades & implements management directions in his area Ensures stores are in excellent condition in terms of customer experience, displays, cleanliness, housekeeping, proper use & maintenance of company assets
- Conducts regular store audits to ensure compliance with standards
- Takes charge of opening new stores in area
- Conducts hiring Interviews, approves hiring of staff for Rank-and-File positions, and recommends hiring of staff for Supervisory & Managerial positions
- Recommends promotions, regularization and transfer of employees
- Develops talent pipeline of future store officers
- Optimizes the use of manpower resources – including scheduling & balancing. Approves work schedule and ensures availability of store personnel at any given time
- Trains and evaluates Store Manager to improve performance
- Final approval of all appraisals evaluated by Store Manager
- Maintains an open communication line to foster positive attitude towards company goals
- Takes part in the disciplinary due process of erring employees
Monitors plantilla fulfillment & raises issues with HR-Recruitment in timely manner Monitors consignor staff fulfillment & raises issues with Merchandising in timely manner Formulates strategic direction and executes actions for:
Achievement of sales targets
- Reduction or optimization of expenses – both controllable & non-controllable
- Achievement of profit objectives
- Improvement of customer service
Improvement of the operation systems – sales, counter, warehouse – to consistently deliver Key Performance Indicators (sales, margin, OPEX, profit, gondola, aging, shrinkage, SSR, etc.)
Analyzes sales, profitability, and productivity trends. Develops strategies to improve Analyzes & recommends manpower plantilla & organization
- Analyzes & recommends consignor line-up in his branches
- Analyzes & negotiates rental rates with malls/landlords
- Analyzes & recommends area downsizing, expansion, closure, redesign or relocation Prepares annual sales plan & expense budget
- Effectively represents the company in any significant negotiation, meeting, matter or event that requires senior representation
- Performs other related functions that may be assigned from time to time
Key Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering or related degree
- Proven team management experience preferably handling multiple branches in Retail, Food or Services
- Strong background in operations management
- Strong leadership skills
- Strategic business mindset. Analytical & quantitative skills
- Negotiation & stakeholder influencing skills
- English written & oral communication skills
- High degree of personal integrity, commitment, maturity & confidence
