Senior Transport Specialist

What you'll be doing

• Developing and implementing transportation strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction
• Liaising with suppliers, carriers, and other stakeholders to coordinate the seamless movement of products
• Analyzing transportation data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven decisions
• Negotiating contracts with transportation providers to secure the most competitive rates and service levels
• Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the transportation department, including route planning, load scheduling, and fleet management
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards in the transportation of goods
• Providing training and support to the transportation team to enhance their skills and productivity

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior transport or logistics role, preferably within the manufacturing, transport, and logistics industry
• Thorough understanding of transportation modes, routes, and regulations, as well as expertise in supply chain management and logistics operations
• Proven track record of optimizing transportation processes and implementing cost-saving measures
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
• Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
• Proficient in the use of transportation management systems and data analysis software
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field
