M&A Data Researcher

The role:

M&A Data Researcher/Analyst is mainly responsible for researching, adding and maintaining transaction records in the M&A/ECM database service of EMIS based on pre-defined criteria. This involves monitoring press releases, stock exchange announcements and news stories about mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and other business combinations, accurately adding them to the company's M&A database using a standardized template and according to the available information, creating descriptive headlines and summaries, and performing various financial calculations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business from a recognized university.
  • Excellent spoken and written English. Good knowledge of Bahasa or other Southeast Asian languages is a plus.
  • No prior experience is expected - recent graduates welcome to apply. 1-2 years of relevant experience is preferred.

Additional skills, knowledge and abilities:

  • Ability to understand economics and corporate finance topics.
  • Ability to read financial statements.
  • Ability to summarise text from various sources and to write analytical commentary.
  • Experience with data research, capital markets and M&A is a plus.
  • Good knowledge of Internet and MS Office (focus on Outlook and Excel).
  • Attention to detail and dedication to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and with little day-to-day supervision.
