MissionAs the Lead Software Engineer for ShippingCart, your mission is to design and deliver seamless, user-centric digital experiences that simplify the complexity of cross-border shopping and logistics. You will play a key role in enabling Filipinos to access global e-commerce with ease by leading the development of web and mobile apps and services that are fast, intuitive, and scalable.

You will also guide your team in adopting best practices, fostering innovation, and translating logistics workflows into user-friendly platforms that elevate customer trust and satisfaction.OutcomeThe Lead Software Engineer will deliver responsive, high-performing apps for key ShippingCart services such as cross-border e-commerce, warehouse fulfillment, and international logistics. . They will ensure fast, mobile-first experiences, develop reusable components, and maintain reliable, bug-free code. By collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and mentoring engineers, the Lead will drive consistent, user-centered improvements.

Their work will support platform scalability as ShippingCart grows internationally and partners with global logistics providers. What You'll DoDesign, develop, and maintain applications for ShippingCart's core services (e.g., Buy and Ship, Warehouse Operations, Order Tracking, etc.)Lead the implementation of web and mobile solutions that simplify international shipping, customs tracking, and payment flows

Optimize application performance for varying internet speeds and devices, especially for mobile-first Filipino customers

Lead our team ofbackend engineers to build and integrate APIs that power our logistics, warehousing, and order management systems

Partner with UX/UI designers and Product Owners to improve the ShippingCart customer and merchant experience

Support and mentor a team of engineers, enforcing best practices in coding, documentation, testing, and CI/CDParticipate in Agile events including sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog refinement tailored to the product lifecycle

What You'll Need5+ years of experience in backend and frontend engineering, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior role

Proven experience in building and maintaining SPAs and mobile-responsive interfaces

Solid understanding of Git, CI/CD tools, and agile development practices

Experience working with product teams in the e-commerce, logistics, or SaaS space

Experience in building single-page applications using React, AngularJS, or

Experience building secure and scalable RESTful APIs and microservices

Proficiency in backend technologies such as and PythonExperience with database design, optimization, and query performance tuning

Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as GitFamiliarity with continuous integration servers such as Jenkins, Travis, and CircleCIFamiliarity with agile development methodologiesA team player, who is willing to learn and passionate about building products with great user experiences, while having fun along the way Why Join Us?
