About the role

MDBI Construction Corp., a leading construction firm in the Philippines, is seeking an experienced Field Engineer - Structural to join our team in Makati City, Metro Manila. As a Field Engineer - Structural, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the implementation of structural designs and ensuring the structural integrity of our construction projects.

What you'll be doing

  • Monitors all related work activities and assigned tasks being done on site based on submitted and approved work sequence and methodology.
  • Interpret and executes plans and specifications.
  • Check work design and technical specifications if implemented correctly on site.
  • Resolve the cause of delay in target schedule and problems related to work activity.
  • Coordinates and monitors subcontractor works on proper execution and compliance to Quality plan.
  • Furnish subcontractors the plans/details needed as well as informing them of the changes or additive/deductive works on site.
  • Evaluate and check work accomplishment s versus submitted billings.
  • Coordinate the requisition, issuances and the timely delivery of required materials on site.
  • Ensure that all materials to be installed comply with the approved submittals and tests.
  • Conduct "time and motion study" and documents man hour productivity on assigned scope of works.
  • Ensure the proper stock filing and safekeeping of the company-owned equipment/tools.
  • Prepare the work activity reports for monitoring and update of Superintendent.
  • Enforce the implementation of quality plans and objectives of the project.
  • Accomplish and prepare QAQC Checklist and Daily Report.
  • Implement all environmental, health and safety rules as well as security regulations within his area of assignment.
  • Perform other related tasks that may be assigned from time to time.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Field Engineer in the construction industry, preferably in the civil/structural engineering domain
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and construction plans
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to identify and resolve structural issues
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with the project team and construction workers
  • Familiarity with relevant construction codes, standards, and safety regulations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project requirements
