Job Title: Controller Supervisor (CND)

Work Setup & Schedule:

  • Hybrid (5PM to 2AM)

What you'll be doing:

  • Take full ownership of the month-end close process, including:
  • Preparing audit-quality working papers across all balance sheet areas
  • Completing sales reconciliations from Shopify and other Merchants accounts
  • Review the Chart of Accounts (COA) and maintain GL integrity
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements and support management reporting
  • Manage ad hoc financial analysis and respond proactively to unusual variances

  • Review and oversee the work of a junior accountant (e.g., prepaids, bank recs)

  • Continue supporting client at reduced capacity (e.g., 20–25 hours/week)

  • Take on fractional controller work for additional clients, including:
  • Preparation of financial statements
  • Full-cycle controllership and streamlined reconciliations
  • Support cash flow reporting, treasury processes, and process improvements across multiple businesses

  • Lead working paper standardization and continuous month-end improvements

What will make you a great fit:

  • 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Demonstrated stability and commitment in previous roles
  • Strong hands-on ability with QuickBooks Online and advanced Excel
  • Ability to work independently, flag issues early, and recommend process improvements
  • Available to work full-time with partial overlap to Eastern Standard Time (Toronto) (for example 9am to 2pm EST)
  • Excellent business-level English communication skills, written and verbal
  • Experience with Google Drive, Google Sheets, Slack, Asana
  • CPA (Philippines) designation
  • Exposure to working with eCommerce platforms
  • 2–3 years working at a Big 4 or mid-tier audit firm
