Research & Development Manager

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree holder
• With 15+ years combined experience in Design and Construction Field
• Knowledgeable in Design Process, Specification and Building Materials (specs writer or equivalent)
• Knowledgeable in Existing & updated Governing Building Code Standards (ASTM, ISO, EN, IN, PNS and other standards)
• Knowledgeable in different material testing e.g. UTM (compressive strength test of concrete, rebar test, etc.)
• Has technical Knowledge of Different Trades
• Creative and innovative
• With effective managerial and organizational skills
• With good communication skill in both oral and written

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Oversees the Research & Development Group in the development process of new products and programs;

1. Establishes a streamlined workflow of tasks and activities of the Research and Development Group;

2. Sets timelines for studies and research works;

3. Delegates tasks and responsibilities to his team accordingly;

4. Monitors the productivity of his team, and ensures quality of work output;

5. Provides effective and actionable feedback to his subordinates;

6. Guides the team towards a clear set of goals, and fosters a collaborative and innovative environment;

B. Establishes a research program with clear objectives and goals that aligns with the goals of the department, and the company;

C. Assesses the current specifications and construction methodologies in place, identifies the common challenges and setbacks, and recommends creative and cost-effective improvements and solutions to the management;

D. Presents new ideas and technologies and proposes application of these ideas to our projects.

E. Must have a strong background in the field of design, engineering, or construction, and knowledgeable of the available and emerging technologies in order to provide creative, and cost-effective solutions and improvements;

F. Must always be well informed on what is happening in the research and development field in order to make sure that the company is up-to-date and current with the most advance technology.

G. Works closely with the Managers of Design and Engineering and Construction, as well as other stakeholders to understand the requirements for material and process improvement.

H. Manages the facilitation of testing at the R&D Testing Facility. Ensures that the Testing Facility is well equipped and maintained.
