Chef – Italian Cuisine

About Aplaya:

Aplaya is a fine-casual beachfront Italian restaurant in Boracay, renowned for its authentic Mediterranean and Italian cuisine, fresh ingredients, and lively dining atmosphere.

Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced
Chef with extensive Italian cuisine expertise
to temporarily join our kitchen team,
co-leading daily kitchen operations alongside our existing cooks
. This position is to
cover the maternity leave of our Head Chef
, with the opportunity to turn into a
permanent role
should the candidate prove to be a valuable asset to the team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the existing kitchen team to ensure consistent preparation and presentation of Italian dishes.
• Prepare and cook a variety of traditional and contemporary Italian recipes including pasta, risotto, meats and seafood.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene.
• Assist in managing inventory and kitchen organization.
• Support the creation of daily specials and contribute ideas for menu development.
• Collaborate with the service team to ensure smooth and efficient food service.
• Uphold kitchen standards and actively contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Chef or Senior Cook in an Italian restaurant or Mediterranean kitchen.
• Extensive knowledge of Italian culinary techniques, recipes, and plating.
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to
  co-lead and work collaboratively
  .
• Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Experience in kitchen organization, stock control, and food safety.
• Culinary degree or certification is a plus.
• Availability to work in Boracay for the duration of the maternity leave, with openness to a permanent position if offered.
