The client operates a growing healthcare business with multiple clinic locations under separate brands, each supported by its own website. The organization is part of the healthcare and medical clinic industry and, while not large, is well-established and requires consistent operational and marketing support.
The business manages two physical locations and maintains distinct brand identities, both of which demand ongoing website maintenance and regular updates. Due to frequent operational changes—such as staff turnover and promotional campaigns—website content must be updated on a weekly basis to ensure accuracy and alignment with business activities.
Previously, the company relied on freelance contractors for web and marketing support but faced challenges with reliability and responsiveness. As part of its growth phase, the business is now transitioning toward a more stable and integrated staffing model, seeking dedicated long-term support to improve efficiency and maintain its online presence.
The company's websites are built on WordPress using Elementor, requiring a professional who can handle both creative and technical tasks, including web maintenance, basic SEO implementation, and content optimization. With operational efficiency becoming increasingly important, the organization aims to strengthen its digital infrastructure to better support its ongoing expansion and brand consistency.
Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced and results-driven SEO Specialist to help grow the online presence of our healthcare brands. The successful candidate will be responsible for improving local search rankings, increasing organic website traffic, and optimizing Google Business Profiles for our physiotherapy and allied health clinics.
This role requires someone with a strong understanding of local SEO, technical SEO, and content optimization in the healthcare sector — particularly for service-based businesses with physical locations.
Note: The candidate must have full access to their own SEO tools and software (e.g. Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, BrightLocal, etc.). We will not be providing paid SEO tools or platform subscriptions.
Key Responsibilities:
Local SEO
• Optimize and manage Google Business Profiles for all clinic locations (services, photos, posts, reviews, and products).
• Ensure consistent business citations (NAP) across directories.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve Google Map Pack rankings.
On-Page SEO
• Conduct keyword research specific to our service areas (e.g., "physiotherapist Rhodes," "podiatrist Ryde").
• Optimize page titles, meta descriptions, headings, and content to target priority keywords.
• Improve website structure, internal linking, and content readability.
• Implement schema markup for LocalBusiness, MedicalBusiness, and FAQ pages.
Technical SEO
• Perform regular site audits for crawlability, indexation, Core Web Vitals, and mobile usability.
• Resolve issues related to site speed, canonical tags, redirects, and sitemap indexing.
• Collaborate with our web developer to implement on-site recommendations.
Content Strategy
• Create and maintain a keyword-driven content calendar for blogs, landing pages, and FAQs.
• Optimize healthcare content to comply with AHPRA and Google's E-E-A-T guidelines.
• Identify new local content opportunities to attract and convert potential patients.
Analytics & Reporting
• Track and report on keyword rankings, website traffic, conversions, and local visibility.
• Provide monthly SEO reports with actionable insights and next-step recommendations.
• Monitor competitors and suggest strategies to improve our position.
Success Metrics
• Improved keyword rankings for local service terms.
• Growth in organic website traffic and Google Business engagement.
• Increase in booking form submissions, calls, and direction requests.
• Measurable month-on-month improvement in SEO KPIs.
Requirements
• Minimum 3 years' SEO experience, with proven success in local SEO for multi-location service businesses.
• Strong knowledge of Google Business Profile optimization and local ranking factors.
• Proven results in improving search rankings, traffic, and leads.
• Proficiency with professional SEO tools (e.g. Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, BrightLocal, SurferSEO, etc.) — must have own access.
• Experience with WordPress SEO (Yoast or Rank Math).
• Understanding of AHPRA-compliant marketing practices in healthcare.
• Excellent English communication and reporting skills.
Nice to Have:
• Experience with conversion rate optimization (CRO).
• Familiarity with Google Ads and Meta Ads for local campaigns.
• Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS.
