The Senior Accounting Manager plays a key leadership role in managing the accounting operations of a diversified group of companies engaged in retail and real estate. This position ensures accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, strong internal controls, and efficient operational finance. The role requires both strategic oversight and hands-on management to support the company's growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic & Planning Functions

  • Participates in management meetings, providing financial insights and recommendations to support business decisions.
  • Leads the preparation, review, and consolidation of annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts in coordination with operations and business unit heads.
  • Prepares and presents financial reports, analyses, and recommendations to management.
  • Implements and maintains accounting policies, systems, and internal controls to enhance efficiency and governance.

Operational Management

  • Oversees day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Reviews and approves disbursement vouchers, billing statements, journal entries, and related schedules.
  • Streamlines accounting processes to improve transparency, accountability, and operational efficiency.
  • Supports cost control, margin improvement, and process optimization initiatives across the organization.

Regulatory & External Coordination

  • Coordinates with government agencies such as the BIR, BOC, and local government units for permits, licenses, and audit matters.
  • Oversees tax compliance, audit responses, and the timely securing of tax clearances and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains relationships with banks and other financial institutions to ensure smooth transactions and compliance with agreements.

Team Leadership

  • Provides guidance, training, and performance management for the accounting team.
  • Promotes professionalism, problem-solving, and collaboration within the finance function.
  • Coordinates with other departments to ensure alignment of financial practices and business objectives.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA license preferred

Experience:

  • At least 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with 4+ years in a supervisory or managerial role
  • Experience in retail and/or multi-entity operations is an advantage

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, Philippine taxation, and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills
  • Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite
