Data Analyst III

Position Summary:

The Data Analyst will be responsible for analyzing, processing, reporting, and identifying data workflow opportunities. 

Essential Job Functions "What You'll Do":

• Analyze and manipulate data, including importing, exporting, queries, ETL, QA, reporting
• Audit data to ensure accuracy, identify discrepancies, and implement fixes to workflows and data as needed
• Use internal and external tools to pull, merge, and append data as needed to solve complex data problems to get desired results
• Ensure that business data and reporting needs are met
• 60% Peer review work and actively mentor other members of the team, improving their skills, their knowledge of our systems and their ability to get things done
• Propose changes to data model and perform UAT on changes
• Optimize existing processes to enhance volume of data and accuracy using internal and external tools
• Formulate/develop special reports and analyze data from reports upon request and to solve problems
• Assist departments and management in the evaluation and interpretation of data and reports
• Organize, implement, and enforce correct data collection policies and methods
• Maintain regular communication with line manager to highlight any issues or areas for improvement
• Communicate efficiently across departments and provide process changes to the various teams
• Enhance data model to improve data and meet business needs
• Work independently to set priorities and develop deliverables on projects
• QA own work to ensure data accuracy, data security, and proper communication
• Any other tasks as assigned from manager

Essential Qualifications "What You'll Need": 

• Bachelor's Degree in IT/programming or related course
• 5-7 years experience working with Data and QA
• 3-4 years experience as a Data Analyst and/or in Data Management
• 5-7 years Strong MS Excel skills including macro building and editing
• 3-4 years Knowledge of ETL tools such as Alteryx

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Experience with data analytics or data warehousing tools and software.
• Proficiency with working on SQL databases (MySQL, Postgres...), and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, AWS DynamoDb...).
• Data visualization skills and associated tools.
• Experience in doing deep industry research and identify data source, key data points, data attributes that are relevant for the task at hand.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to convey complex ideas to a broad audience of different backgrounds.
• Strong sense of ownership and focus on long-term usability and extensibility.
