About the role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Head Chef to join our team at Thai Mango by Chef Kim's restaurant in Malate, Manila. As a full-time Assistant Head Chef, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head Chef in delivering an exceptional dining experience for our guests. With your extensive culinary expertise and leadership skills, you will help to oversee the kitchen operations and ensure the highest standards of food quality and presentation.

What you'll be doing

  • Assisting the Head Chef in managing the daily operations of the kitchen
  • Supervising and coordinating the work of the kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely delivery of dishes
  • Participating in the creation and refinement of new menu items, ensuring they align with the restaurant's culinary vision
  • Monitoring food preparation processes to maintain consistency, quality, and presentation
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations
  • Contributing to the development and training of kitchen staff
  • Collaborating with the Head Chef to identify areas for improvement and implement innovative solutions

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as an Assistant Head Chef or equivalent role in a reputable restaurant or hotel kitchen
  • Proficiency in Thai cuisine and a strong understanding of traditional Thai cooking techniques and flavors
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively delegate tasks and motivate the kitchen team
  • Thorough knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen sanitation
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure
  • Passion for creating innovative and visually appealing dishes
  • Relevant culinary certifications or qualifications preferred
