Solar Plant Manager – Operations

The Solar Plant Manager for O&M is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, preventive and corrective maintenance, and overall performance of the solar power plant. The role ensures plant availability, reliability, safety, and efficiency while complying with industry standards, environmental regulations, and contractual obligations. This position also involves managing O&M teams, coordinating with contractors, and reporting plant performance to management and stakeholders. Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field (Master's degree is an advantage).

Qualification:

Minimum 5–8 years of experience in power plant operations, with at least 2+ years in solar O&M management.

Strong knowledge of PV systems, inverters, transformers, switchgear, SCADA, and grid integration.

Familiar with safety standards (OSHA/NEC/IEC) and local regulatory requirements.

Proven leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Proficiency in MS Office, SCADA systems, and data analysis tools.

Key Responsibilities :

  1. Operations Management
    -Monitor and ensure continuous, safe, and efficient operation of the solar power plant.

-Supervise plant performance, including energy generation, grid compliance, and system availability.

-Implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for plant operations.

-Coordinate with the grid operator and regulatory authorities for dispatch and compliance.
2. Maintenance Management
-Develop and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance schedules.

-Ensure timely troubleshooting and resolution of plant issues to minimize downtime.

-Oversee spare parts inventory, tools, and consumables management.

-Coordinate with OEMs and service providers for specialized maintenance.

3.Team Leadership & Training

-Manage and supervise O&M staff, technicians, and contractors.

-Provide training and skill development programs for team members.

-Ensure adherence to safety standards and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

4.Stakeholder Management

-Liaise with management, clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.

-Support management in budgeting, cost optimization, and asset management.

-Handle inspections, audits, and customer queries.
