INTENSIVE CARE UNIT NURSE (ICU)

JOB SUMMARY:

A professional nurse who is delegated the authority and responsibility of patient care in the Intensive Care Unit. Responsible for carrying out doctor's orders accurately; and management of the physical environment of the unit. Performs / coordinates with all the departments of the hospital as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assesses patients' needs and provide direct nursing care, collecting data about the patient, observing and inspecting patient, reviewing clinical records, knowing the medical diagnosis and positively seeking information from the physician and other personnel caring for the patient.
  • Carry and interpret physicians order to achieve the most effective results, relates physicians order to appropriate family member, who are with the patients.
  • Plans patient care with physicians, communicates patients' needs and problems to physician and checks on documentation process, evaluate effectiveness of care plan, comfort and safety of nursing care, and agree to which patients needs and problems are being met.

QUALIFICATION:

  • Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Nursing, with updated/valid PRC license
  • Preferably with BLS, IV Therapy training and ACLS but not required.
  • Excellent nursing care skills, detail-oriented and self-motivated.
  • Organized, dependable and can work under pressure and with minimum supervision.
  • Willing to work in shifting hours and during holidays.
