Job Summary:

The IT Operations Engineer will be responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring system reliability, security, and efficiency. This role will provide first-level support for hardware, network, systems, and applications while also assisting in deployments, troubleshooting, and security patching. The engineer will play a key role in supporting digital transformation initiatives and optimizing IT operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. IT Support & Troubleshooting

Provide first-level support for hardware, software, network, and system-related issues.

·       
Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to applications, servers, and network infrastructure.

·       
Escalate complex issues to senior IT personnel or vendors when necessary.

2. System & Application Management

·       
Assist in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of applications across development, staging, and production environments.

·       
Apply security patches, updates, and bug fixes to applications and systems as needed.

·       
Ensure backup and disaster recovery processes are in place and tested regularly.

3. Network & Security Administration

·       
Monitor and maintain network performance, ensuring minimal downtime.

·       
Assist in firewall, VPN, and access control management to enhance security.

·       
Implement best practices for data security, compliance, and risk mitigation.

4. IT Operations & Automation

·       
Support infrastructure automation using scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or Python).

·       
Optimize system performance and proactively address potential issues.

·       
Maintain and monitor IT systems using logging, alerting, and monitoring tools.

5. Collaboration & Digital Transformation

·       
Work with IT Head to support digital transformation initiatives and IT modernization efforts.

·       
Assist in evaluating, testing, and integrating new technologies to improve efficiency.

·       
Provide input on IT policies, procedures, and best practices.

6. Documentation & Reporting

·       
Maintain accurate IT documentation, including network diagrams, system configurations, and incident reports.

·       
Generate reports on system health, security compliance, and IT performance metrics.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

·      Degree qualification or equivalent in a relevant computer science discipline

·      Minimum 2 years of solid experience in IT operations

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux system administration.
  • Experience with network troubleshooting (DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, firewalls).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
  • Understanding of IT security best practices (patching, endpoint protection, access controls).

IT Tools & Automation:

  • Hands-on experience with IT monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, ELK, or equivalent).
  • Basic scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python to automate tasks.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines or DevOps practices is a plus.

Soft Skills & Collaboration:

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and continuously improve IT processes.
