What does a Mid-level UI Designer do?

As a Mid-level UI designer, you'll work with a team of designers to create high-fidelity screens and mockups. You are expected to design screens and screen states, put them into flows, create variants for responsive design, create icons, illustrations, and other graphical assets.

Your primary responsibility is to turn wireframes into beautiful, production-ready high-fidelity user interfaces. Simply put, your job is to make things look pretty–impressive.

To be successful in this role, you need to have strong graphic design fundamentals, a good sense of design, acute attention to detail, and a passion for designing useful products that users will love.

You are expected to collaborate with other designers, project managers, and developers and develop recommendations on solving problems within your domain.

Unleash your design talent and accelerate your career with a dynamic team. We're on the lookout for a Mid-level UI Designer to craft stunning high-fidelity screens, user flows, and responsive designs that make an impact.

On a typical project, you are expected to:

• Turn block screens, low fidelity screens, wireframes into pixel-perfect, production-ready high-fidelity designs.
• Contribute or sometimes craft a UI style guide detailing typography, iconography, color, grid, and design components
• Deliver production-ready components from new or existing components from other designers. You'll label them correctly, organize them, check their spacing and consistency and make them pixel perfect.
• Collaboratively create digital product concepts.
• Create execution studies for a particular direction through the use of photography and illustration.
• Support our development team during design QA.
• Evolve design work by building on either existing direction
• Produce graphic assets for Frost's clients and internal projects website and app pages, branding, content, print materials, logos, icons, and illustrations
• Participate in sprint planning, cadence meetings, and other alignment activities
• Assist senior colleagues in liaising with clients
• Assist in the creation of pitch materials and other presentations

As a Mid-Level UI designer, you know how to:

• Design user interfaces, screen, and state designs
• Create reusable components with pixel-perfect design
• Create grid structures that scale, from responsive web to native apps
• Create scalable design language systems for typography, color, components, and layouts

Do I need a design degree to work at Frost? A degree in design is great but not required.

We want you to have:

• 3 - 4 years of professional product design/visual design experience (UI/UX Designer)
• Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction
• A strong portfolio of design projects
• Working knowledge on design software: Figma, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop–Our design team uses a broad range of tools. We occasionally use Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Maya for most of our 3d works. But often, we use Figma for designing. On top of that, we are investing a lot in developing our own custom tools like Figma plugins and other design automation initiatives.
• Experience in 3D and UI animation is a big plus.
• Proficiency in front-end design – HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a huge advantage
• You can communicate well with your colleagues.
• The willingness to step up when your team depends on it
