Job Description

The Cost Controller (Primavera P6) provides financial oversight and cost management support across construction and modular infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for tracking, forecasting, and reporting project costs to ensure alignment with budgets and project objectives.

The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, hands-on experience with Primavera P6, and a solid understanding of cost control within construction or project environments. This is a remote position supporting distributed project teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Cost Control

  • Develop, maintain, and manage 
    cost control systems
     and financial tracking tools.
  • Prepare and monitor 
    budgets, forecasts, and cost baselines
     using 
    Primavera P6
     and related software.
  • Conduct 
    variance analysis
    , identify cost deviations, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support project teams in aligning cost, schedule, and scope performance.
  • Assist with 
    earned value management (EVM)
     and related project performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with project management, engineering, procurement, and finance to ensure financial transparency.
  • Produce detailed cost analysis reports and summaries for management and client review.

Project Coordination & Reporting

  • Participate in monthly progress reviews, project meetings, and financial closeout activities.
  • Ensure cost reports comply with company standards, policies, and reporting frameworks.
  • Track and evaluate project cost trends, highlighting risks and opportunities.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of cost control processes and templates.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in 
    Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or Finance
    .
  • Minimum 
    3–5 years
     of experience in 
    cost control or project controls
    , preferably within construction or modular projects.
  • Proficiency in 
    Primavera P6
    , with strong understanding of cost–schedule integration.
  • Advanced 
    Excel
     skills; familiarity with 
    Power BI
     or ERP systems is an advantage.
  • Experience with 
    Procore
     or 
    ServiceNow
     is 
    highly advantageous
    .
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and reporting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively in a 
    remote and collaborative
     environment.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in 
    modular construction
    , prefabrication, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of 
    earned value management
     and project cost engineering methodologies.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard project control systems and procedures.
