A DIY Manager oversees store operations, ensuring profitability through sales, staff management, and customer satisfaction. Key responsibilities include developing sales strategies, managing inventory and store aesthetics, training and motivating employees, ensuring compliance with procedures, and maintaining a clean, safe environment for customers and staff. Qualifications typically include a relevant bachelor's degree and several years of management experience in a retail environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Sales & Performance:Drive store sales and growth, develop sales strategies, and manage inventory to meet sales targets.
  • Operations Management:Oversee daily store operations, ensure store cleanliness and tidiness, manage stock levels, and handle cash control.
  • Staff Management:Recruit, train, motivate, and guide the sales team, providing constructive feedback and ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
  • Customer Service:Ensure a high standard of customer service, address customer issues promptly and courteously, and foster customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Compliance & Reporting:Adhere to legal requirements, company guidelines, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Complete, update, and report on sales figures and other relevant metrics to headquarters.
  • Merchandising:Arrange and display merchandise effectively to attract customers and maximize sales opportunities.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree or college degree in a relevant field (business, marketing, sales).
  • Several years (often 3-5+) of working experience in a related field, particularly in retail management or supervision.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software, such as MS Word and Excel.
  • Strong customer orientation.
