Responsibilities
You will be required to assist in all aspects of the management accounting process, which may at times extend beyond the duties listed below.
Working closely with the Finance Manager and Australian stakeholders, you will be responsible for preparing accurate financial reports, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and assisting with compliance and audit requirements to ensure seamless financial operations.
This will require you to prepare management accounts, conduct financial analysis, and liaise with key stakeholders such as auditors, tax advisers, and internal teams while maintaining clear communication with the client.
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts in accordance with Australian standards
- Perform balance sheet, P&L, and cash flow reconciliations
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis
- Provide financial insights and commentary to support decision-making
- Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards, tax obligations, and reporting requirements (e.g., BAS, GST, FBT)
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisers, and other key stakeholders as required
- Support process improvements, automation initiatives, and system enhancements
- Collaborate with Australian management and cross-functional teams to deliver timely and accurate reporting
Contribute to team development, knowledge sharing, and continuous process improvement
You will be provided with client-specific training and will be expected to manage and prioritise your workload effectively. We encourage continuous learning, system optimisation, and maintaining a high level of accounting and regulatory knowledge.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- At least 4-5 years of experience Management Accountant, Financial Accountant, or similar role
- Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards, compliance, and reporting
- Advanced skills in Excel and financial modelling
- The ability to troubleshoot inconsistencies and errors
- High level numeracy and reconciliation skills, with demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy with figures
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
- Proficiency in Xero is required, with an understanding of additional plug-ins such as Fathom and similar.
- Experience with HubDoc and Weel is highly regarded.
