The paralegal will assist attorneys in the delivery of legal services by performing a variety of tasks, including legal research, document drafting, case management, and client communication. The role involves supporting lawyers in preparing for trials, hearings, and corporate meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

Legal Research:

  • Conduct legal research using various resources, including online databases, statutes, regulations, and legal literature.
  • Summarize findings and present relevant information to attorneys.

Document Drafting:

  • Prepare legal documents such as pleadings, contracts, affidavits, and briefs under the guidance of attorneys.
  • Review and edit legal documents for accuracy and completeness.

Case Management:

  • Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all relevant documents are accurately filed.
  • Monitor case deadlines and assist in case management tasks.

Client Communication:

  • Interact with clients to gather information, provide updates, and address inquiries.
  • Assist in client interviews and maintain client confidentiality.

Trial Preparation:

  • Assist in trial preparation by organizing exhibits, coordinating with witnesses, and preparing trial binders.
  • Attend court hearings and trials as needed.

Administrative Support:

  • Provide administrative support, including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and handling correspondence.
  • Assist in billing and invoicing processes.

Legal Compliance:

  • Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations relevant to the organization's practice areas.
  • Ensure legal documents comply with applicable laws and regulations.

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with attorneys, legal assistants, and other staff members to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to legal strategy discussions.
