Job Summary

The Paralegal Secretary will provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to attorneys and paralegals. This role involves both traditional secretarial tasks and substantive legal work, requiring strong multitasking abilities, legal knowledge, and professional communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, and reports
  • File legal documents with courts and administrative agencies (e-filing and hard copy)
  • Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate court dates
  • Organize and maintain physical and electronic case files
  • Assist in preparing legal pleadings, discovery requests/responses, and trial materials
  • Conduct basic legal research and summarize findings
  • Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel professionally
  • Perform general administrative duties such as answering phones, scanning, and billing support
  • assists lawyers in preparing and organizing various legal documents for upcoming cases and trials.
  • main duties include preparing affidavits and correspondence, discussing case details with attorneys and clients and organizing different files for different legal proceedings.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a legal administrative or paralegal role
  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and document formats
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with legal management software (e.g., Clio, MyCase, etc.) is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
