Job Title: Restaurant Cashier

Job Description and Responsibilities:

The Restaurant Cashier plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth financial operations and excellent customer service at the restaurant. Below are the key responsibilities associated with this position:

  • Process customer payments accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Manage cash registers and ensure they are balanced at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Supervise and assist front-of-house staff in delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues or complaints with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cashier area and dining space.
  • Prepare daily sales reports and assist in financial reconciliation tasks.
  • Assist in scheduling staff shifts to ensure optimal coverage during peak hours.

Qualifications and Skills:

Prior experience in similar capacity in the Restaurant industry is preferred. Proficiency in operating Point of Sales (POS) system and strong verbal communication skills to deliver excellent customer service. Ability to work independently and as part of the team and handle various customer service roles efficiently.

  • High school diploma or college level.
  • Prior cashier or customer service experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Minimum of one year of experience as a Cashier, preferably in a restaurant.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and cash handling procedures and card transactions accurately.
  • At least years old
  • Communication Skills and Computer Literate
