About the Role

COMPASS Training Center, Inc. is looking for qualified and passionate Deck and Engine Instructors to join our growing team of maritime professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct theoretical and practical training sessions for BT-IGF and AT-IGF courses in compliance with MARINA guidelines.
  • Ensure effective learning delivery through the use of approved training materials, simulators, and assessment tools.
  • Prepare and maintain training records, assessments, and course documentation.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities, audits, and instructor development programs.
  • Promote safety, professionalism, and competence among trainees.

Qualifications

  • Valid MARINA Professional License ID as Management Level Engineer Officer or higher, or Management Level Deck Officer with equivalent qualifications.
  • Valid MARINA Certificate of Proficiency (COP) for Advanced Training on IGF Code (AT-IGF)
    or
    previous COP for AT-IGF plus a Certificate of Training Completion for AT-IGF within the last five (5) years.
  • At least one (1) year of documented seagoing service in a capacity as holder of COP for AT-IGF, either at the Officer-in-Charge or Management Level.
  • Certificates of Completion for:
  • IMO Model Course 6.09 – Training Course for Instructors
  • IMO Model Course 6.10 – Train the Simulator Trainer and Assessor Course
  • Completion of SPOEL and/or PAEL supported with Evaluation Report (ER) or Training Course Report of Assessment (TCROA).
  • Prior experience as Instructor and/or Training Course Assessor for BT-IGF and/or AT-IGF courses preferred.
  • Familiarity with STCW Code Tables A-V/3-1 and A-V/3-2 and IGF Code operations and safety standards.
  • MARINA accreditation as Instructor for BT-IGF and/or AT-IGF is an advantage.
