GENERAL JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvides safety and operational oversight in ensuring all managed vessels operate to the highest standards of safety, security, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance.JOB QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in marine Transportation, Marine Engineering, or equivalentLicensed Deck Senior Officer (>500 GT)Experienced onboard gas tanker with at least 1 year sea service as Chief OfficerKnowledgeable in STCW, SOLAS, MARPOL, GC/IGC code, OCIMF SIRE 2.0/BIRE and ISMDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEnsure vessel marine and safety operation comply with the company's Safety Management System SMS and ISM CodeMonitor the effectiveness of SMS and propose revisions for continuous improvementSupport the preparation and execution of internal audits and external audits (Flag State, Class, charterers etc.)Consolidates, updates and monitors of incidents, safety inspections and audits databaseLead or support investigations of incidents, accidents, near misses, and non-conformitiesConduct root cause analyses (RCA) and ensure timely implementation of corrective/preventive actionsPrepare and distribute incident reports and lessons learned across the fleetConduct regular and unscheduled onboard HSES inspections and assist in pre-vetting or SIRE/BIREMonitor compliance with ISPS, MARPOL, SOLAS, MLC, charterer commitments and other relevant regulationsMonitor vessel compliance with MARPOL requirements and company environmental policiesAssist ship staff in conducting onboard risk assessments and job hazard analysesDeliver safety training, toolbox talks, and safety campaigns for both shore and ship staffJob Type: Full-timeBenefits:Additional leaveCompany eventsHealth insuranceLife insuranceOpportunities for promotionPromotion to permanent employeeWork Location: In person
