Junior Accountant

As a Junior Accountant, you'll play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records for multiple client accounts. You'll be responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping, reconciliations, and assisting in monthly close processes, while learning and growing under the guidance of a supportive Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Record day-to-day financial transactions in QuickBooks Online
  • Perform bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations
  • Categorize transactions and maintain clean general ledgers
  • Support the month-end close process (e.g., accruals, adjusting entries)
  • Assist with cleanup and catch-up work as needed
  • Communicate with clients to request documentation or clarify data
  • Collaborate with the Accounting Manager for task updates, reviews, and coaching
  • Follow internal processes, checklists, and deadlines to ensure high-quality work
  • Perform ad hoc work as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent experience)
  • 1–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online required; Excel/Google Sheets proficiency expected
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Comfortable working in a remote environment and managing multiple priorities
  • Eagerness to learn and openness to feedback

Work Terms:

  • Employment Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week)
  • Schedule: EST Business Hours
