Key Responsibilities

The school cook prepares large quantities of balanced meals for students, adhering to strict food safety, nutrition, and sanitation guidelines, while maintaining a clean kitchen and managing inventory.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare meals in large quantities from established recipes and menus, ensuring nutritional balance and appealing food options.
• Adhere strictly to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices to prevent illness and maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
• Receive, store, and monitor ingredients and supplies, placing orders when necessary.
• Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas at the beginning and end of shifts, as well as throughout the day.
• Check the quality of ingredients and prepared food, ensuring they meet standards for freshness and taste.
• Safely operate and maintain various kitchen appliances and cooking apparatus.
• Work cooperatively with other cafeteria staff to ensure efficient and high-quality food services.
• Participate in professional development and training to learn new kitchen and food prep practices.
