Internal Sales Representative

The Internal Sales Representative plays a critical commercial role within the company by supporting the sales team through accurate quoting, proposal preparation, lead management, and high-level communication with both clients and internal departments. This role ensures that all pricing requests, proposals, and sales opportunities are handled efficiently and professionally, enabling the sales team to win new business and retain existing accounts.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Quoting & Proposal Management
- Prepare accurate and competitive quotes for domestic freight, 3PL services, courier, air freight, and sea freight.
- Create professional proposals, rate cards, capability statements, and bid documents for the sales team.
- Ensure all pricing requests from sales reps and clients are answered quickly and correctly.
- Work closely with operations teams to confirm transit times, service availability, and cost structures before quoting.
Support to Sales Representatives
- Assist sales reps with managing leads, preparing presentations, and developing client proposals.
- Provide timely updates on quoted jobs, potential opportunities, and follow-up activity.
- Support onboarding of new customers by coordinating rate setup, scope documentation, and internal briefings.
- Act as a commercial support partner to sales reps to help convert leads into revenue.
Client Communication & Coordination
- Communicate with clients regarding quotes, proposals, service options, and clarifications.
- Follow up on outstanding proposals, negotiate pricing where appropriate, and gather feedback.
- Build strong rapport with clients by understanding their requirements and recommending suitable solutions.
Cross-Department Collaboration
- Coordinate with Operations, Customer Service, International Freight, Finance, and Warehouse teams for accurate quoting inputs.
- Obtain internal confirmation on pricing, capacity, scheduling, and operational constraints before finalising proposals.
- Relay all client requirements clearly to internal teams to ensure alignment and service readiness.
Commercial Reporting & CRM Management
- Maintain accurate records of quotes, leads, and pipeline activity in Zoho CRM.
- Assist with preparing sales performance reports, conversion statistics, and opportunity summaries.
- Track proposal outcomes and provide insights for improvement.
Skills & Requirements
Essential
- Proven experience in Internal Sales, Sales Support, Sales Coordination, or Commercial Pricing, ideally in logistics, transport, or freight forwarding.
- Strong understanding of domestic transport (cartons, pallets, linehaul) — and exposure to International Freight and 3PL Warehousing is a plus.
- Ability to confidently prepare and present quotes, proposals, and sales documents.
- Excellent communication skills — clear, professional, and client-friendly.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to interpret costings, margins, and service requirements.
- Proficient in Zoho CRM (mandatory) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) (mandatory).
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple sales requests simultaneously.
- Self-driven and able to work independently, with a strong sense of accuracy and urgency.
- Advance Excel data review, analytical mind with advance formula writing and analysing data for sales reps.
Desirable
- Experience in freight pricing, transport operations, or logistics sales.
- Familiarity with 3PL services, warehouse operations, and delivery networks.
- Ability to analyse client requirements and propose tailored logistics solutions.
