Job Summary:

The Cost Control Specialist is responsible for monitoring and controlling project or operational costs to ensure budgets are met. The role includes analyzing cost data, preparing reports, and supporting management in decision-making through accurate cost tracking and forecasting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and track project and operational costs against budget and forecast.
  • Analyze variances and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with project managers and department heads to maintain cost control processes.
  • Prepare and present regular cost reports (actual vs. budget).
  • Assist in developing standard costing and cost allocation methodologies.
  • Maintain and improve cost control systems and tools.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Support the preparation of cost estimates for new projects or activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in cost control, cost accounting, or related role.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and budgeting.
  • Experience in manufacturing, construction, or engineering industries is an advantage.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and reporting skills.
