The QA/QC is responsible for ensuring that all construction activities comply with project specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining quality control systems, conducting inspections, and managing quality documentation to ensure that the construction project is completed to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Quality Assurance plan in line with project requirements.
  • Coordinate with project management, contractors, and suppliers to ensure quality standards are understood and adhered to.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with the QA plan.
  • Identify potential quality risks and propose corrective actions.
  • Perform daily inspections of construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Monitor and document the quality of materials and workmanship on site.
  • Verify that all testing and inspections are performed according to industry standards.
  • Oversee third-party testing and inspection services when necessary.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed records of all QA/QC activities, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective actions.
  • Ensure all documentation is properly filed and easily accessible for review by management and regulatory bodies.
  • Prepare final project quality documentation for turnover to the client.
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve quality issues.
  • Provide training and support to site staff on quality control processes and standards.
  • Communicate quality issues and resolutions to all relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all construction activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies.
  • Stay updated on changes to construction codes and regulations.
  • Prepare and present regular quality reports to management and the client.
  • Track and report on the effectiveness of quality control measures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a QA/QC role within the construction industry.
  • Hands-on experience with construction practices, materials, and standards.
  • Experience with quality management systems and tools.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and codes.
  • Proficient in quality management software and tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Willingness to travel to different job sites as needed.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
