Job Title:Database Architect

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Database Migration Specialist to lead the conversion of an existing SQLite database to PostgreSQL. The role focuses primarily on database migration, optimization, and documentation, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition with minimal data discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Convert all SQLite tables and views to PostgreSQL, applying appropriate data types and structures where necessary.
  2. Optimize database performance through indexing and other tuning techniques.
  3. Refactor and optimize views to reduce dependencies on deeply nested views.
  4. Develop a repeatable and automated process to migrate existing data from SQLite to PostgreSQL.
  5. Implement a data verification process to ensure data integrity and consistency between the two databases.
  6. Prepare comprehensive documentation outlining changes made to tables, data types, and indexes, including justifications for each modification.
Requirements
  • Strong expertise in both PostgreSQL and SQLite database systems.
  • Proficiency in C# and Entity Framework Core (EFCore) is an advantage but not mandatory, as the focus will primarily be on database migration.
  • Proven experience in database optimization, schema design, and data migration projects.
  • Ability to create repeatable, well-documented, and verifiable migration processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Hands-on experiencemust not rely solely on AI-generated or automated tools for migration.
Additional Information
  • The client will manage the migration of EFCore components and any related application code changes.
  • This role requires a self-driven database expert capable of independently planning and executing the migration process efficiently.
