
Store Manager

The Store Manager is responsible for the overall operation, performance, and success of the convenience store. This role involves managing daily operations, supervising staff, ensuring excellent customer service, optimizing sales, and maintaining store standards. The Store Manager is expected to lead by example, drive operational excellence, and foster a positive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:Operations Management:
- Oversee daily store operations to ensure smooth and efficient functioning.
- Ensure all store policies and procedures are followed, including safety, security, and hygiene standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate timely ordering and replenishment of stock.
- Manage cash handling, deposits, and reconciliation processes accurately.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including food safety and alcohol/tobacco sales (where applicable).
Sales & Profitability:
- Drive sales to meet and exceed targets through effective merchandising, promotions, and upselling.
- Monitor financial performance, including sales reports, labor costs, shrinkage, and other key metrics.
- Implement strategies to increase store profitability and reduce operational costs.
Customer Service:
- Maintain high standards of customer service to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally and promptly.
- Ensure staff provide friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient service at all times.
Team Leadership & Training:
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate store staff.
- Schedule and manage employee shifts to maintain adequate coverage.
- Provide coaching, development, and performance feedback to team members.
- Foster a collaborative and motivating team environment.
Store Presentation & Maintenance:
- Ensure the store is clean, organized, and well-stocked at all times.
- Maintain appealing visual merchandising and product displays.
- Oversee equipment maintenance and report any issues promptly.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree is a plus.
- 2+ years of retail or convenience store experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or managerial role.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient in basic math and computer skills (POS systems, MS Office, etc.).
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Other Requirements:
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift moderate weights (up to 40 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
